VCA Access tour of 2018 Melbourne Art Week

With fabulous memories from our recent adventure with our students at the Auckland Art
Fair, we are offering our members another great art experience, but this time on home turf….
We are delighted to invite you to the VCA Access tour of Melbourne Art Week,
Wednesday August 1 – Friday August 3.
The week will include an exciting and engaging array of art
events at the Melbourne Art Fair (MAF), Spring 1883, the Tarrawarra Biennial as well as some
inspiring private collections.

At the centre of our tour are the 2018 VCA Access students
and artist mentors and we are thrilled to be able to showcase their talent to you in a behind
the scenes way. Following the resounding success of the VCA Access students’ exhibition in
Auckland ‘Beyond Boundaries’ we have been invited by MAF to include this exhibition in the
Fair to celebrate and promote emerging talent. We will have a private tour of this exhibition
and an opportunity for you to engage with the students and curators. This will further our
students’ opportunities to gain real world experience in building their sustainable career
practice. We thank you as VCA Access members for helping provide this opportunity and
also thank the University of Melbourne’s Art Curatorship program and the VCA for partnering
with us on this project.

We are fortunate to have 2018 VCA Access artist mentors Sally Ross and Irene Hanenbergh
open up their studios to us – these are not to be missed opportunities for art lovers. We will
also have the exclusive opportunity to enjoy a private guided tour of MAF before it opens to
the public. This will be followed by the Vernissage party for the art die hards amongst us.
