Linda Studena

Linda Studena is a Czech born artist based in Naarm, Melbourne, operating from an Australian/European migrant perspective.

Her practice responds to personal and collective histories and cultural identity; exploring the social-political dimensions of the archive, through photography, print, drawing and assemblage. With influences such as surrealist and politically engaged practices, and drawing on a personal history of displacement, Linda generates new associations by investigating symbols of culture, remembrance, and counter- memory. Linda exhibits regularly and is currently completing a Master of Contemporary Art at the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne University (AU). She holds a Master of Fine Art at RMIT University (AU), including a winter semester at the Academy of Fine Art in Prague (CZ), funded by the Freedman Foundation Scholarship, National Association of Visual Arts (NAVA).
